Remedios GHawad Kalinga Village

TEMI donated a 2-hectare property to the Municipality of Victoria specifically for development of a housing project for indigent families. To implement the conceived housing program, TEMI entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Municipality of Victoria represented by then Mayor Weng Guiam, Gawad Kalinga represented by Engr. Romualdo De Guzman and the Provincial Government of Tarlac represented by then Gov Aping Yap. The plan was to seek donors for funding of the project, undertake the land development with the construction of drainage and utilities, construction of at least 100 houses, construction of a multi purpose bldg, class rooms and basketball court, and to develop livelihood development projects. TEMI further agreed to allow the future beneficiaries of the project to utilize its 8000 square meter lot with a fish pond to augment its livelihood program. The housing project was named after Remedios P. Talon in memory of the Talon Family Matriarch.

The Ground Breaking which was held last 7 July 2007 consist of the MOA signing and laying of the time capsule. The other is the Awarding of the initial 20 houses built to the qualified beneficiaries which was held last 11 January 2008 coinciding with the 13th Death Anniversary of Remedios Talon, to whom the housing project was named after. The 20 initial houses were funded by donors from Canada which was facilitated by Gawad Kalinga.
